Building early foundations
Children develop language, social skills, movement and independence. A first year of kinder gives them time to settle into routines and grow in confidence before their school-readiness year.
Play-based kindergarten for three and four-year-olds, led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher within our long day care.
Joy Villa offers a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program for three and four year olds, delivered as part of our long day care. It is led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher who plans purposeful, play-based learning that helps children get ready for school.
Learning in our kinder room grows from the children's own interests. Our educators notice what children are curious about and build experiences around it, using intentional teaching to guide conversations, questions and group projects.
Children learn best by doing, so the day is full of hands-on play, indoors and outdoors. Our planning follows the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
Families are partners in their child's learning. We share your child's progress with you and welcome your ideas, culture and interests into the program.
Each year has its own focus, so children build skills step by step.

The focus moves to early literacy and numeracy, problem solving, independence and understanding feelings. In Term 4, the teacher prepares a Transition Learning and Development Statement to share with your child's primary school.
Starting school is a big step for children and families. We talk with children about school in a positive way, share information about local schools, and work with you so your child feels prepared and excited for their first day.
